Our journey began through our shared professional roles and mutual passion for helping children better understand themselves, their experiences and the world around them.

What started as a conversation about emotional regulation quickly developed into a deeper discussion about how children process the world around them and, importantly, what is happening within their bodies.

We kept coming back to one important question:

‘How can children learn to regulate their emotions and responses if they don’t understand the signals their bodies are sending them?’

This led us to explore interoception - our ability to notice, recognise and make sense of what is happening inside our bodies.

We became fascinated by the idea that, before children can respond effectively how they are feeling, they need opportunities to pause, notice and understand their internal signals.

Our curiosity led us to explore interoception, sensory processing, Polyvagal theory and the powerful connections between brain, body and behaviour.

As our understanding developed, so did our belief that this knowledge needed to be translated into something practical, accessible and meaningful for education.

Together, we have transformed this learning into a simple, engaging curriculum that can be adapted for learners of different ages and stages. Our approach is designed to help children develop body awareness, understand their individual responses and build practical skills for regulation.

When children have the language and tools to recognise what is happening within them, they are better equipped to make sense of their experiences, navigate challenges, build positive relationships and develop confidence in themselves.

Our work brings together our shared experience, ongoing learning and passion for education, with on central aim; to help children understand their experiences vital connection between their brain, body and behaviour, and give them the tools to flourish.
